Q: What do Chiropractors do?
A: Chiropractic joint
manipulations (adjustments) are what chiropractors are most famous for. By mobilizing joints in the spine, neck, and even
the hips, wrists and feet, a chiropractor can help correct biomechanical imbalances, alleviate pain, and restore normal body
function.

Q: How does joint manipulation work?
A: One way to
look at it is that when one joint is locked and not functioning (in your spine for instance), the other joints and muscles
around that spot have to work twice as hard to get their job done.
This combination of joints that aren't moving and
other joints that are moving too much creates irritation to the muscles, nerves, and connective tissue around the dysfunctional
area. Mobilization of those joints that aren't moving can thus correct the initial imbalance and allow the body to heal itself
naturally.
The types of adjustments used by the LaSalle Chiropractic are quick, painless, and most people find them
to be quite satisfying and enjoyable.
Since chiropractic care depends on the healing abilities of each patient, results
can vary from patient to patient. Everyone responds differently. Some detect changes in a few short days or weeks. Others
may take weeks to months before showing significant progress.
In addition to joint manipulation, we also use a variety
of soft tissue techniques and physical modalities like ultrasound and electric muscle stimulation. We also use massage therapy,
nutrition counseling, herbal supplements, and rehabilitation programs to treat our patients.
